John 14:27 (NIV)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Priscilla Louise Sperling, age 69, passed away on December 21, 2011, in Panama City, FL. She was born in Enid, OK on February 5, 1942, and later began raising four children in California before moving to Vero Beach, FL in 1972. Priscilla loved her family and her pets. She enjoyed working for the Vero Beach Police Department and later as a security officer where she received awards and commendations for her dedication and service. Priscilla kept a beautiful home filled with plants. She could grow poinsettias in July. She enjoyed shopping garage sales and thrift stores in her free time. In 2009, her health forced her to move closer to her daughter in Panama City, FL.
She is survived by her four children: Crist Sperling (Kimberly) of Gardendale, AL; Joy Waldron (Keith) of Panama City, FL, Vincent Sperling of Vero Beach, FL, and Mitchell Sperling (Kim) of Reno, NV; her cocker spaniel: Molly; her mother: Louise Mitchell of Lodi, CA; her grandchildren: Benjamin Sperling of Hoover, AL, Sally Sperling of Gardendale, AL, Claire Clemmons of Tuscaloosa, AL, Derek Waldron (Brandy) of Panama City, FL, Lynzy Waldron Kapoi (Lance) of Baumholder, Germany, Anthony Sperling and Sarah Sperling both of Vero Beach, FL, David Sperling and Ryan Sperling both of Reno, NV; her sister: Schezel Hazlett of Stockton, CA; her great-grandchildren: Jason, Cooper, Kai, and Dahlia; and good friends: Judy and Joe of Vero Beach, FL.
There will be no service and memorialization is by cremation. The family requests no cards or flowers, but would be honored if you would make a donation to the Humane Society or Covenant Hospice or charity of your choice in memory of Priscilla.
The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank the folks at HealthSouth in Vero Beach, FL, and the physical therapy team at Panama City Nursing Center for never giving up; and to everyone at Emerald Shores Rehab for their care, compassion, and professionalism, especially Priscilla, Misty, Betty, Michelle, Jamil, Shea, Clinton, Nell and Heather; and from Covenant Hospice: Sherry, Ben, Janet, and Virgil Tillman, for seeing us through every storm right until the end. May God heap his blessings upon all of you for the difficult work you do every day.
