Obituary for Barbara 'Juanita' Sechrest

Barbara 'Juanita' Sechrest, 80, of Panama City, FL, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018. She was born December 21, 1937 in Vernon, FL.

Barbara became close with many people from her AA group and they became like family. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed attending church. Most importantly, she loved her family and adored the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ida Anderson; son, Harvey L. Welsh; and two brothers, Robert Somnitz and Paul Anderson.

Those left to cherish Barbara’s memory include her three daughters, Deborah Nixon of Panama City, Beth Maddox of Macclenny, FL and Bobbi Rosenblum (Dave) of Middletown, DE; five grandchildren, Kenneth H. Pickett Jr., Lisa A. Nixon Mabry, Robert H. Nixon, Jade B. Rosenblum and Brandi J. Rosenblum; seven great grandchildren, Tara D. Pickett, Levi H. Pickett, Wyatt O. Pickett, Kobe D. Vanbogart, Micah G. Monaghan, Haylee A. Smith Nixon and Carson J. Nixon; sister, Lo Lindsey of Lynn Haven; and brothers, Earl "Buddy" Somnitz and Gene Somnitz, both of Panama City.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning 10:00 A.M. prior to the service. A graveside service will begin 3:00 P.M. at New Hope Cemetery.
