Obituary for Dorothy Madlene Smith

Dorothy Madlene Smith, 91, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born March 11, 1926 in Round Lake, FL.

Dot would like to let you know her work here is done. She received a call to a new beginning from which she will not be returning. This new offer comes with lasting security, plus a reunion with family and friends she has not seen for a long time. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place with much socializing, music, laughter, and love guaranteed.

Family members that have been waiting to welcome her include parents, Burris and Betty (Kent) Morris; brothers, Jack Morris, Burris Morris, Jr., and Robert Morris; great grandson, Aaron Hardy; and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Pitts.

Those of us remaining to celebrate her new beginning are brother, Wayne Morris; son, Duell Pitts Jr. (Darlene); stepson, Charles Smith, Jr. (Jane); granddaughters, Tammy Hardy (Johnny), Olivia Pitts and Sara Ivey (Kyle); grandsons, Duell Pitts III (Kathy), and Benjamin Pitts (Melanie); great granddaughters, Madeline and Mary; great grandsons, Christopher, Chad, Jacob and Kolter; great, great granddaughters, Katelyn and Miley; and great, great grandson, Shelton.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, October 12, 2017 in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at White Pond Cemetery in Alford, FL.
